  • 5 A Really Great Place

We've been going to Church's every Saturday for years now and, having formed an extra group of friends from the clientele, we also enjoy a Christmas meal here every year. It's a really friendly place, great atmosphere, catering for everybody. More than once we've asked if they could provide some mash and gravy for our grandson (2), and they've come up with the goods for virtually nothing with no hesitation. There are three floors, mixture of tables, chairs and sofas, tables outside (plus infra-red heaters) and so on, so we've never experienced a space issue (we are often there with a couple of pushchairs too!!).Caters for all age groups ~ Live music in the evenings occasionally too!Highly recommended for coffee, drinks, a snack or full meal as far as we are concerned!! Friendly and relaxed.

  • 3 It's 'just ok'

Unfortunately I have to say I agree with the previous reviewer. Space here is a real issue and makes the whole experience one which isn’t an enjoyable one. That is such as shame because if they lost a table or two, I’m sure people would be raving about them. The service was good and fast, with the staff being really friendly so I couldn’t fault them in any way. The menu was ok, not a massive selection but just enough to for everyone to be able to find something to eat which they will enjoy. The food is ok, again nothing special. However being jostled by people walking past and everyone having to move when someone wants to get up really detracts from what could have been an enjoyable evening

  • 2 Could be better

I went here with a group of good friends a while ago and must say I came away disappointed. The food was okay and of reasonable value, but nothing special. What really annoyed me was the feeling of being rushed and also the cramped feel of the place. When eating out with a group, you need time to chat and socialise. You also need space to move especially if wanting to leave to smoke or visit the toilets. This couldn't be done without most of the group also having to move to let one out. Unfortunately I would not go again and I believe this is also the way others in the group felt.
